Rare specially commissioned cupboard base display cabinet on veneered brass lacquered plinth, by Maison Jansen, Paris circa 1970s.

 

The cupboard base is superb quality golden lacquer with lacquered brass handles and comes in two parts. The top shelving is lacquered brass with glass shelves,and sits on the top. The veneered lacquered brass plinth is detatchable in one piece  The condition of the whole piece is excellent and totally original. 

 

Bespoke furniture was only made for the best houses in the world,with a clientele that included the Duke and Duchess of Windsor,the Shah Shahbanou of Iran, Mrs John F. Kennedy and the Honorable Pamela Harriman. Jansen always catered to the desires and ambitions of rich and powerful people.

The condition of the whole piece is excellent and totally original.
